tic.sixxs.net don't resolve
Shadow Hawkins on Thursday, 22 May 2008 02:21:56
I have read and followed the "Reporting Problems" section on the Contact page and am providing the following details for this report based on the list of items stated there:
Hi,...
today i noticed deham01 was marked as "down", but my tunnel stays up fine.
After that, i had to reboot my pc and my tunnel (T15386) doesn't come up again.
I figured out, that AICCU can't reach "tic.sixxs.net" and does not start.
Someone in the chat advised me to put "193.109.122.244 tic.sixxs.net" in my /etc/hosts file. And it worked.
There must be anything wrong with the resolver or the route?
"tic.sixxs.net" resolve to 213.197.29.32 from my end.
best regards
Stefan

Updated yesterday to add extra redundancy.
When reporting DNS like problems, please always use a 'dig +trace <label>' and a 'dig @<dnsserver> <domain> soa' to see what the values should be and where they are coming from. Of course keep in mind that DNS caching might be in effect too.
Also, don't forget to remove those definitions from /etc/hosts as we might just decide to move IP's for those services again for load balancing reasons.
