I've been running DDNS for years and managed to hold my IPs for the same.. but as it happens my IP did change.. I've updated it on the tunnel type / endpoint -15 credits but it hasn't come back up.. after an hour

The heartbeat and AYIYA protocols solve dynamic IP addresses and moving them directly. Static tunnels are for truly static endpoints.
The PoP knows the right address after you changed it, as can be seen below but also on the tunnel detail page.
