No Routing with my assigned subnet
Shadow Hawkins on Friday, 09 July 2010 12:14:42
Hello,
i have a Routing PRoblem with my new assigned subnet at DEDUS01.
I connect with the AICCU to the POP and get a working Tunnel.
With the subnet 2A01:198:602::/48 advised.
If I try a traceroute from the SixXS Page with the POP selected i get
IPv6 traceroute from dedus01.sixxs.net @ SpeedPartner GmbH , AS34225 to 2a01:198:602:99:: :
Hop Node Loss% Sent Last Avg Best Worst StDev ASN Organisation
1. 2a01:198:602:99:: 0.0% 5 13.2 41.0 12.3 153.5 62.9
but if i choose a different POP i get
IPv6 traceroute from decgn01.sixxs.net @ NetCologne Gesellschaft fur Telekommunikation mbH, AS8422 to 2a01:198:602:99:: :
Hop Node Loss% Sent Last Avg Best Worst StDev ASN Organisation

If I try to Ping the gateway 2a01:198:602:99:: from a Host everything looks good

rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 0.317/0.432/0.492/0.058 ms
when i try the rout from my host to a server (end-to-end) I get
ping6 ipv6.google.com
PING ipv6.google.com(2a00:1450:8007::68) 56 data bytes

I guess there might be something wrong with the routing at DEDUS01 with that new Subnet ( Subnet: 2A01:198:602::/48 )
Manny Thanks in advanced

I have tested all Routings
from Host -> defaultgw ( 2a01:198:602:99:: ) => workin
from Host -> tunnel Adapter => workin
from HOst -> ipv6.google.com => NOT workin
from Router -> via tunneladapter => workin
from Host the traceroute stops at the POP tunnel endpoint
from DEDUS01 -> trace -> tunneladapter (myside) => workin
from DEDUS01 -> trace -> subnet gateway (2a01:198:602:99::) => workin
from DECGN01 -> trace -> subnet gateway (2a01:198:602:99::) => NOT workin
from SixXS NOC ->trace-> subnet gateway (2a01:198:602:99::) => NOT workin
from DEDUS01 -> trace -> subnet host => working
from DECGN01 -> trace -> subnet host => NOT workin
from SixXS NOC ->trace-> subnet host => NOT workin
sorr that i have to reopen that ticket

Maybe this can be interresting if I try a traceroute from the host I get
[CODE]
traceroute to ipv6.google.com (2a00:1450:8004::67), 30 hops max, 80 byte packets

What is the source address that you are using when sending these packets?
I think you are getting bitten by the wrong source address, that is from your 'router' (the tunnel endpoint) you are using the tunnel address, while the others where up to just now being filtered out (you should have received a administrative denied though).

Can you include the routing tables of the hosts on your side and the traceroutes to the hosts that do not work?
Also, ipv6.google.com has a couple of quite different IPv6 address, thus please make sure that the addresses involved are included.

Hi,
acttually I retry all of my tests starting the first end2end test from my Host (2a01:198:602:66:20c:29ff:fe73:a0fd) to ipv6.google.com (2a00:1450:8004::6a).
And Finally it works...
Then I try the more interresting way by doing a traceroute6 from the NOCof sixxs to the Host (2a01:198:602:66:20c:29ff:fe73:a0fd) and everything looks good.
Maybe I didn't wait for some dynamic Routing entries to become active ;)
Now the Ticket is really solved
thnx for this really great support of sixxs and SpeedPartner GmbH
