OpenBsd no route to host
![]()
Hi all,
i have configured a static tunnel on my openbsd machine exatly as mentioned in the FAQs.
But I cannot ping my ipv6 tunnel endpoint:
ping6 2001:15c0:65ff:8f::1
PING6(56=40+8+8 bytes) 2001:15c0:65ff:8f::2 --> 2001:15c0:65ff:8f::1
ping6: sendmsg: No route to host
ping6: wrote 2001:15c0:65ff:8f::1 16 chars, ret=-1
ping6: sendmsg: No route to host
route -n show gives (ipv6 part)
Internet6:

OpenBsd no route to host
How many default routes do you need ? :)
One should be enough don't you think.
Also follow the rest of "Reporting Problems" on the contact page which most likely will discover the problem for you.
Note that some OS's report a 'no route to host' over a tunnel when the remote endpoint is indicating that proto-41 from the source it uses to send it to is not configured.

![]() How many default routes do you need ? smile One should be enough don't you think. Yes, but there is no way to clear the other two (at least I have not found one)
There is a firewall (packet filter) running, any idea how to open proto-41 (I opened tcp,udp port 41 but thats probably wrong)
I think thats the problem :?

Now the tunnel seems to be up, I can do a traceroute from the sixxs website to my ipv6, but on the host itself it's the same old story: no route to host ??

It works now, but I didnt change anything ???
Maybe this wasnt a problem at my server but on the broker side :?
