Yet another NAT problem

I have a linksys BEFSR41 cable/dsl "router" and am unable to send and receive any v6 packets, the host in question is running WinXP (though i have a FreeBSD machine i could use if in doubt). The host is the dmz host.
Any attempts to ping6 anything fail including the ipv6 end of my tunnel.
windump gives me this
13:13:40.800895 IP 192.168.1.2 > 193.1.31.74: (null) > (null): icmp6: echo request
13:13:44.731945 IP 192.168.1.2 > 193.1.31.74: (null) > (null): icmp6: echo request

Can you connect your IPv6 host directly to the Internet to check if it works without the routers. There are some (or even many) routers around which don't pass IPv6 in IPv4 packets (protocol 41) even if the host is the DMZ host.
Example:
- D-Link DI-614+ - does not work - blocks proto 41 traffic with protocol unreachable
- Linksys WRT54G - works like a charm
