[nl] Shadow Hawkins on Thursday, 09 October 2003 21:27:24
Hi, I just managed to set up my first ipv6 tunnel running debian 2.4.22. When i ping to my IPv6 Endpoint i get this: 64 bytes from <ip>: icmp_seq=475 ttl=64 time=22.9 ms ping: recvmsg: No route to host 64 bytes from <ip>: icmp_seq=476 ttl=64 time=21.3 ms and after a while: --- <ip> ping statistics --- 480 packets transmitted, 330 received, 31% packet loss, time 483777ms rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 24.949/27.531/72.278/3.280 ms anyone got an idea what could be wrong here? Thanks in advance, Migiel

You might want to ping using IPv4 to the endpoint and discover that your latency is somewhere around 300ms... You might also want to dump your routing tables IPv6 and IPv4, interface configuration and other valuable informations, people here are not psychic. Note that sometimes bbned adsl connections crack down and then you will need to reset your modem to get it up to sync again, depending on make of the modem though.

Sorry i didnt gave enough information. when i try to ping to my endpoint i get the following values: 64 bytes from 213.204.193.2: icmp_seq=57 ttl=57 time=24.2 ms 64 bytes from 213.204.193.2: icmp_seq=58 ttl=57 time=24.3 ms 64 bytes from 213.204.193.2: icmp_seq=59 ttl=57 time=24.4 ms --- 213.204.193.2 ping statistics --- 60 packets transmitted, 60 packets received, 0% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max = 23.3/24.6/26.8 ms and my ipv6 configuration is: auto sixxs iface sixxs inet6 v4tunnel address 2001:960:2:84::2 netmask 64 endpoint 213.204.193.2 ttl 64 up ip link set mtu 1280 dev sixxs up ip route add 2000::/3 via 2001:960:2:84::1 dev sixxs

--- 213.204.193.2 ping statistics ---
60 packets transmitted, 60 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 23.3/24.6/26.8 ms
What is wrong with that ? :)
and my ipv6 configuration is:
That is what you type, not what is in your routing/interface etc tables...

guess what... today my ISP gave me information about problems on their network yesterday. today's result: 1234 packets transmitted, 1234 received, 0% packet loss, time 1245332ms :-)
