subnet doesn't work
[de] Shadow Hawkins on Saturday, 15 April 2006 18:50:15
Hello, I tried to configure a subnet on my Win PC, but it doesn't work. I tried to add a route and I did it like this: netsh interface ipv6 add route 2001:6f8:12c4::/48 "LAN-Verbindung" 2001:6f8:900:642::2 I also tried ...::1 but still it doesn't work. When I type show route, this appears: publ. Typ Met Praefix Idx Gateway/Schnittstelle ------- -------- ---- ------------------------ --- --------------------- no Manuell 0 2001:6f8:12c4::/48 5 2001:6f8:900:642::2 Well, the problem is, that I can't be pinged and I can not tracert anything. errormessage: Host not available Moreover, I want to route over a linux PC on which radvd is installed. This works quite fine. Can someone tell me what I've done wrong?

Hint: a link gets a /64, not a /48, which is 65536 /64's.

Now it looks like this: Veröff. Typ Met Präfix Idx Gateway/Schnittstelle ------- -------- ---- ------------------------ --- --------------------- no Manuell 0 2001:6f8:12c4::/64 5 2001:6f8:900:642::2 But it sill doesn't work :(

"it"... *what* exactly? See "Reporting problems" on the contact page ;) Also note that it is pretty futile to set the gateway for the /64 to your tunnel endpoint, unless you really mean to route that /64 onto your loopback. Of course also see the FAQ...

*it* is still the same problem as mentioned above "Well, the problem is, that I can't be pinged and I can not tracert anything. errormessage: Host not available" Reading the FAQ didn't bring much success.

If you would actually take a few seconds to read the "Reporting Problems" section on the contact page you would find a nice short list of things you can try. Note that this is very clearly shown in that big orange box above and below the posting option. The outputs for those traceroutes which won't work, the outputs of a lot of other things would be very very helpful already. Nobody is able to help you if you just say "it doesn't work"... Tracerouting from the outside it clearly shows that the problem is on your end: 10 ge0-3-0-0.br1.isham.de.easynet.net (2001:6f8:800::51:6:2) 37.994 ms 38.177 ms 37.883 ms 11 fe0-0.6r0.isham.de.easynet.net (2001:6f8:892:6::10:122) 38.18 ms 43.165 ms 38.332 ms 12 deham01.sixxs.net (2001:6f8:800:1003::2) 38.93 ms 37.62 ms 37.437 ms 13 cl-1603.ham-01.de.sixxs.net (2001:6f8:900:642::2) 64.873 ms 67.687 ms 65.098 ms 14 deham01.sixxs.net (2001:6f8:800:1003::2) 66.882 ms 70.024 ms ...loop... You are sending the packets back to the PoP.
