IPv6-Setup problems on Debian Sarge
![]()
Hello,
after i have also now solved the problems in the last thread about ntpd, using also now chronyd it works.
But now i have set up a new box as the new mailserver and i also want to get IPv6 working on it, too, but it fails.
The funny thing is that i am using the same configuration scripts i made for my other boxes and on them its working flawlessy.
I had just to change the IPv6 addresses to apply to that one box.
The problem here is on Debian, that i can assign what i want, i can ping for example ::1 without problems, but i can not ping the global address of the box.
I get "connect: cannot assign requested address"
If i do a tcpdump i see the multicast discovery, as it requests whether the IPv6 Address is already supplied to a other box, then nothing happens.
I have tried one day to get it working and it suddenly did work, after reboot then it suddenly again did not work allthough i have not done any changes to my scripts.
I can even try it with radvd, it gets the address and the routes, but if i want to ping again "cannot assign requested address".
The kernel is the same as on the other boxes.
Any suggestions would help.
Thanks
Sebastian
