Trouble getting up with aiccu on openwrt chaos calmer
[us] Shadow Hawkins on Friday, 20 November 2015 21:51:14
I am having some trouble and keep getting quick blocked everytime I try to connect. I understand the need to stop excessive retries, but I'm just trying again after changing something every few minutes. I think the system is a little too sensitive... Anyway, on to my noob problem. I think it has to do with /dev/net/tun not existing. I thought I'd fixed it by mkdir /dev/net mknod /dev/net/tun c 10 200 as directed under some debian instructions I'd found, but I rebooted my router and then tried again a few hours later. Apparently the mknod didn't last thru the reboot, because /dev/net tun was gone. It failed and I was immediately quickblocked again, so out of frustration I'm posting here. Please help me get through the initial setup of aiccu. Here is my system log output. Trouble getting up with aiccu on openwrt chaos calmer

I believe this problem is resolved. I'm using OpenWRT (Chaos Calmer) on Raspberry Pi, and when I originally compiled it, kmod-tun, a pre-requisite for aiccu in order to have a /dev/net/tun device, was not included in the configuration. Adding the kmod-tun module via opkg, though it seemed to be installed correctly, did not seem to work. Recompiling the OpenWRT image with kmod-tun included seems to have corrected the problem. I hope this information is useful to other OpenWRT users.
