my tunnel stopped working after i migrated from an earlier version of os x to 10.9.
my setup is the following:
$ port installed aiccu tuntaposx
The following ports are currently installed:
aiccu @20070115_3+gnutls (active)
tuntaposx @20111101_0 (active)
$ kextstat | grep foo
134 0 0xffffff7f8158f000 0x7000 0x7000 foo.tap (1.0) <7 5 4 1>
138 0 0xffffff7f815e9000 0x7000 0x7000 foo.tun (1.0) <7 5 4 1>
$ ifconfig tun0
ifconfig: interface tun0 does not exist
how do i get the tunnel device showing up?

to answer my question myself:
the tunnel is going to be created automatically when aiccu is running.
my tunnel stopped working due to the macports bug causing the daemon to restart again and again in an endless loop which leads to the tunnel being blocked by sixxs.
i should use aiccu more often obviously to never forget this.
:)
now that the tunnels has been unblocked everything is working fine again.

Just wanted to add that OS X 10.9 has a built-in 6to4 tunnel you can add via the network settings panel. I am struggling to get it working though at the moment...

Every BSD variant since 1996 has had a 6to4 interface.
For a lot of big reasons, you do not want 6to4.
Also note that SixXS does not provide 6to4.
See the FAQ (Tunneling comparison) for details.
