Windows 8 private-public problem

I just migrated from windows 7 to windows 8. After reinstall of the tap901 hardware, running the AICCU console exe results in a working ipv6 tunnel, but windows makes the network public iso private. This results in being able to access IPV6 websites, but it is impossible to ping ipv6 sites, access ipv6 newsservers.
Windows 7 had the possibility to change this through the network and sharing panel, which is not possible in windows 8. When using the charms bar, going to options and clicking the network icon, the aiccu vpn network does not show-up, so it seems not to be possible to change public to private using that route.
Any idea how this problem can be overcome???
Thanks Pierre

In Windows 8 this can be performed using PowerShell.
Open an elevated PowerShell window and use the Get-NetConnectionProfile cmdlet to see the current settings and Set-NetConnectionProfile to set a network to a different NetworkCategory.
E.g.: Set-NetConnectionProfile -InterfaceAlias WLAN -NetworkCategory public
