Akamai and IPv6?
[ca] Shadow Hawkins on Thursday, 07 June 2012 01:19:02
Akamai has been doing work to be IPv6 ready and their own website already is. The question is when will we start seeing the websites of their hosted customers responding to IPv6 traffic? Do customers have to explicitly request support or will this be done automatically?

From what I understand customers have to explicitly request it, and since yesterday various are enabled that way, eg: $ host -t aaaa www.bing.com www.bing.com is an alias for a134.dsw3.akamai.net. a134.dsw3.akamai.net has IPv6 address 2001:918:ffc8:ffff::c1f7:a61b a134.dsw3.akamai.net has IPv6 address 2001:918:ffc8:ffff::c1f7:a61a

It seems to be working, I get another set of IP's: host -t aaaa www.bing.com www.bing.com is an alias for a134.dsw3.akamai.net. a134.dsw3.akamai.net has IPv6 address 2001:2030:d::50ef:b2d3 a134.dsw3.akamai.net has IPv6 address 2001:2030:d::50ef:b2c0
