Ubuntu seems to prefer IPv6 over IPv4

Ubuntu (and also Debian as far as I understand) does it right.
I just realized that when both IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity exists for a host it will prefer the IPv6 connection over IPv4. And this for a normal "out of the box" installation.
For example, when running Update Manager or "apt-get update" the box resolves the AAAA record for the name and connects to the repository using IPv6.
Similarily, Firefox will default to the IPv6 address translation of a hostname if it is available.
That is so nice :)

this is also true for windows if you have a "native" ipv6 Device. Windows is configured to prefer ipv6 over ipv4 but not for the teredo tunnel ;) sixxs tunneldevice should be automaticly prefered. AAAA record lookup is done always IMHO
