Latency statistics shows long tunnel outages when in fact the tunnel is consistantly up and pingable
Shadow Hawkins on Wednesday, 03 September 2008 16:08:10
I have read and followed the "Reporting Problems" section on the Contact page and am providing the following details for this report based on the list of items stated there:
Tunnel ID: T14953
POP: usewr01
The tunnel latency statistics is showing intermittent connectivity in the last 2 weeks or so. This seems serious enough to stop payment of ISKs.
I have monitored the tunnel myself from my end with pings to the POP IPv6 endpoint every 45 seconds and within the currently indicated outage, my pings have been 100% successful for the period of over a day.

At 17:10 GMT echo requests started appearing again from the POP in tcpdump output:
13:10:47.149588 IP6 (hlim 64, next-header: ICMPv6 (58), length: 64) 2001:4830:1200:104::1 > 2001:4830:1200:104::2: ICMP6, echo request, length 64, seq 57600
1595 13:10:47.149640 IP6 (hlim 64, next-header: ICMPv6 (58), length: 64) 2001:4830:1200:104::2 > 2001:4830:1200:104::1: ICMP6, echo reply, length 64, seq 57600
pings from client->pop work as always.

We are aware that it works, you claimed it didn't work.

I claimed that pings from the POP apparently didn't work since they were not recorded in the graphs and I didn't detect any. As the graphs show this seems to be an intermittent problem. Pings from my end always work even during the times when the POP doesn't succeed.
